About the book: In Healing the Heart of Democracy, Parker Palmer explores five "habits of the heart" that can help us restore democracy's foundations as we nurture them in ourselves and each other: An understanding that we are all in this together An appreciation of the value of "otherness" An ability to hold tension in life-giving ways A sense of personal voice and agency A capacity to create community With an updated foreword from the author, along with an updated readers' guide, this book is an eloquent and empowering call for "We the People" to reclaim our democracy.
About the facilitator: Kirstin Anglea is a seeker, a wonderer, a mother, daughter, partner, and educator. She relishes meaningful conversation, the powerful rhythm of a good tune, adventures in nature, and experimenting in the kitchen with family and friends. Kirstin has been a facilitator with the Center for Courage & Renewal since 2013. She co-leads Circle of Trust retreats, exploring the deeper questions and issues that come with being human. In addition, she serves as the Mentor Program Coordinator for the Center and works part-time at Black Butte School in Camp Sherman.
